Did anyone else totally love this movie?

I did. Had such a boner for Al’s dad. :U

yesssssssssssss

Kaseeeeeeeeeeeeem

Dat grey-streak.

Kaseem was definitely a disney crush of mine…he also had an awesome voice.

when i recently rewatched this movie, all i could think of was andraste’s (descriptive of choice) (lewd body part), aladdin’s dad is malcolm hawke

I loved Kaseem! He tried his best, he really did, but unlike his son he just couldn’t (or wouldn’t) change. I’d like to think his morality compass was set a little better afterwards, though.

So here’s another magically beautiful Glen Keane moment. Now when we’re all talking about romantic moments in the beauty and the beast we usually think of the ending where’s Belle’s crying over the Beast and then he transforms and then they kiss (BEAUTIFUL kiss scene by the way) however I think this part here is extremely poignant and I’ve been watching it for a while.
I don’t have to reiterate how Glen Keane has the magical way of beautifully weaving raw human emotions into his animated characters because it’s just a fact that he’s a genius at it but now I’d like to turn attention to the fact that he does it amazingly here AND he manages to pull it off with a really NON human character. Speaking of course here about the Beast.
What can I say about the Beast except for the fact that he’s an amazing feat of animation from his design to his animation and this little gif here is like…the epitome of that sensitivity and beautiful human emotion that he has. He’s the giant, “ugly” beast who as we’ve seen can be extraordinarily violent, throwing around chairs, banging on doors, kicking things around. He’s got a lot of anger and we see that. But here we get this very, very human beast. It’s such a stark contrast to the Beast we knew before and that’s why I love it so much. The way he strokes Belle’s hair, very gently, not touching her neck. There’s something very beautiful about the way he lets it linger on his finger (or claw or whatever you people call it) and the way he looks at. We’ve really got this sense of desparately wanting to touch her and be near her without going overboard. What really kills me about this bit is his eyes. Maybe the rest of him is quite beastly but there’s something about those eyes that just draws you in. They’re warm and familiar and really that’s what makes this scene. His eye convey these intensely raw emotions and that’s no exception here. In a matter of seconds we see him go from looking very confused almost…maybe concerned to just looking utterly defeated and really it’s all in his eyes.
I don’t have much to say on Belle here, personally and that’s largely in part due to the fact that we only see her from the back through most of this but there is a way we see her looking at the Beasty when we first see her that is rather nice. There is a way in which she’s now comfortable with letting the Beast touch her (well…her hair anyway) that’s a stark contrast from the beginning of the story, but I feel like the Beast is really the star of this scene. He really dominates it.
Seriously I can’t get over how much of an inspiration Glen Keane is. Every time I watch his animation it’s just magical.

I’m trying to do a thing… Yip this could be the beginning of a long series displaying my take on the whole “Disney Princesses Heroines in their Prince’s counterpart’s clothes” idea. Yes it’s been done like 2 times before… don’t freak out :). I’ll keep adding to this post as I complete new princesses. Xxx
